Christmas Eve Day lunch at The Briarwood ~

Mike pretending to drink from the botte of his split of Champagne.  Good thing our booth was private.  smiley83

Mike had Lobster Bisque followed by Boeuf a la Bourguignonne, and I had a Chicken Salad Croissant
(Roasted chicken salad with cranberry glaze in freshly baked croissant.
Served with sweet potato chips and a cherry apple slaw) ~ soooo good.

Then home and later to open our gifts.

An amethyst pendant with a small ruby.  It goes with the amethyst and  ruby ring Mike designed for me last Cristmas.

And a new Camera!  Yes, it's Purple!  It's also wireless!

Christmas morning we opened Santa's gifts and those from Mike's sister and bil and from Laine.

Then on to Christmas dinner ~

The Beast 'slathered' with herb infused butter and ready to go into the oven.

The beast, post roast ~ or post roasting.

With a Jordan Cabernet, whipped potatoes and gravy, carrots in butter and brown sugar and crock pot creamed corn.   I will never eat creamed corn from a can again except in Corn Pudding!

Well, first of all, guess who got caught.   Mike's present was supposed to come between 2 and 5PM.

I spent the morning pharting around doing little things and thought I had all the time in the world.   If I didn't even take my shower until noon, I should have been fine.   Well, wrong!   The phone rang at maybe 20 minutes to 11 and it was the guy, 15 minutes away!   Obviously I couldn't pull myself together that quickly, so I brought Shogun into the bedroom and Mike let the guy in.   He brought the box back to the Great Room and Mike was sure he would have brought it into the bedroom if I hadn't been hiding in there with Shogun.   He also said we have a nice house.

It was certainly well packaged.   No small challenge to get "it" out of the box, but much easier to take it back to the bedroom.   Getting rid of the box and packing material may be a different story.

  So what is "it"?

Mike has been using an antique Telephone Table that was my mom and dad's next to his chair in the bedroom.   We go in early and watch TV, me from the bed and him from his chair.   The little table is a good idea for holding a few things conveniently ~ a 'clicker', perhaps a glass of water, a few other small things.   There are two drawers for him to keep more things in, like his headphones.

This is what it is supposed to look like:

Of course you know that Mike can't have just one "clicker"

He needs at least half a dozen, plus his iPad, iPod, a flashlight to use when the lights are off,

an inhaler or two ~

So once the lights were turned off, and Mike needed to switch from his Cable clicker to his ROKU

Clicker to his DVD clicker to his Sound Bar clicker to. . . . (I can't remember what, but there are

seven of them, I believe), or grab an inhaler or anything else, half the time something ended up

on the floor.   Hence the flashlight to find said item.   His chair isn't close enough to his

Nightstand where his lamp lives to turn it on without getting up.

Enter the early Christmas present, slightly larger than the old table, with a shelf to expand the

storage surface and two larger drawers ~

I think it's going to make his life easier ~ at least I hope so.

He's pretty excited about it, even if he is getting it early.

Several years ago I got him a small table to go next to his chair in the Great Room.

I had to give that to him early too, but he loves it and calls it his "Christmas Table" to this day.

The only thing wrong with it is that I don't have enough room for one like it by my chair.   lol

This is the "finished product", for now at least.

You may not be able to tell, but there are four remotes on the top, and three more in the top

drawer, along with his flashlight and glass cleaning equipment.  In the bottom drawer, there are three headphones and some "space for expansion" (his words) smiley83.

Also on the top is a kleenex box, his inhaler and a coaster.   In the shelf, his night time pills, the

cream  he uses for neck pain, an extra coaster, and his iPad Mini and iPod.

The cool thing is that now he can  plug both of them in to charge overnight and I don't think anything is going to be pushed onto he floor when the lights go off.
